VISIT US ON STAND W20
The organisers of Ocean Business have announced the event has been rescheduled from July to October 2021. The ocean technology exhibition and training forum will be deferred to the new dates of 12–14 October 2021 at the National Oceanography Centre (NOC), in Southampton UK.
The decision follows the recent announcement from the government about the opening of large-scale trade events and international travel from 21 June, and comes after consultation with the ocean technology community.
Huw Gullick, Managing Director of NOC Innovations and Associate Director of Strategic Business Development, said, "Although a little later than planned, we’re delighted to be able to host Ocean Business at the NOC again in 2021. For most people across the marine science and technology industry this will be one of the first opportunities to get together face to face in the UK in 18 months and so it will be great to be able to welcome this special event’s exhibitors and visitors to our Southampton site. Ocean Business 2021 will also be the first major physical event the NOC has hosted since becoming an independent organisation in November 2019 and so we’re looking forward to having the show audience in our facility and taking the opportunity to talk about how we can work together to deliver new capabilities in the increasingly important blue economy."
Event director Cheri Arvonio said: “Although we’re able to run Ocean Business in July, we feel we need to give exhibitors and attendees more time to prepare, and it’s important we have a clear run to give everyone the best possible chance for a great show. We want to make the right decision for our community and having consulted with our exhibitors, visitors and partners, we’ve decided the best action to serve everyone is to postpone the show to the autumn this year.
“The government’s announcement, combined with the new dates, gives everyone clarity and ensures that we can look forward to a successful show with confidence."
“We’re disappointed not to be able to bring everyone together as soon as we’d hoped. But we’re committed to delivering an event in 2021 that provides the community with the most effective opportunities for networking, education, and interaction – and we hope you agree that the move to October means we’ll be able to return with the best show possible.
“Finally, we’re so grateful for the incredible and continued goodwill and support the industry has shown us during these difficult times. We’re looking forward to working together over the coming months to ensure that Ocean Business continues to be the premier celebration and gathering the industry deserves and can be proud of. And more than anything, we look forward to seeing you – in person – in October.”
Ocean Business will take place from Tuesday 12th October to Thursday 14th October 2021 at the National Oceanography Centre, in Southampton UK. For more information, please visit www.oceanbusiness.com
