More than 40 Ocean and Earth Science students attended the University of Southampton’s Winter Graduation on 14 December.
Now firmly established in the University calendar, students can elect to attend a winter ceremony, enabling those who were awarded degrees in the autumn to graduate within a few weeks or months rather than wait until the summer.
The graduation ceremony took place in the Turner Sims Concert Hall on the University’s Highfield Campus. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students from Ocean and Earth Science were awarded their degrees, and celebrated after the ceremony with friends and family at a reception at the National Oceanography Centre Southampton.
Professor Tim Minshull, Head of Ocean and Earth Science says “Graduation provides the opportunity recognise the hard work of our students during their time at the University. It is a highlight in the academic year when students have the opportunity to celebrate their success with their parents, friends and staff. Congratulations to all those graduating this winter!”
Our graduates join a Southampton alumni community that is 160,000 strong and spans the globe. We encourage all of our alumni to stay connected and to continue their involvement with the University.
