The Scottish Shelf Waters Reanalysis Service (SSW-RS) is a downstream service of the Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service. The Scottish Shelf Waters Reanalysis Service provides hydrodynamic model outputs from 1993 to 2018 for the Scottish Continental Shelf and adjacent waters on an unstructured model mesh.
Target users include Scottish public bodies responsible for marine environmental regulation, industry and academia. The underlying model is the Scottish Shelf Model, an implementation of the Finite Volume Community Ocean Model. The Scottish Shelf Model has been developed by the National Oceanography Centre since 2012, under the guidance of Marine Scotland Science.
